The following time events are applicable when determining the cancellation penalty: At least 20 working days notice must be served in writing to the Campus Central Student Accommodation Management.

EVENT 1 

WHEN THE LESSOR / STUDENT CANCELS BEFORE SIGNING THE STUDENT ACCOMMODATION AGREEMENT & BEFORE THE 1ST OF JANUARY 2026:

 

Cancellation Penalty - No cancellation penalty is applicable.

​

Application Fee - NON-REFUNDABLE

           

Security Deposit - Fully refundable.

 

EVENT 2 

WHEN THE LESSOR / STUDENT CANCELS BETWEEN 01 JANUARY 2026 AND 01 FEBRUARY 2026 & BEFORE SIGNING THE STUDENT ACCOMMODATION AGREEMENT:

 

Cancellation Penalty - No cancellation penalty is applicable.

Application Fee - NON-REFUNDABLE

           

Security Deposit - NON-REFUNDABLE

EVENT 3

WHEN THE LESSOR / STUDENT CANCELS BEFORE 1 FEBRUARY 2026 AND HAS SIGNED THE STUDENT ACCOMMODATION AGREEMENT:

 

Cancellation Penalty - R5 000,00 to be paid immediately soon after cancellation.

Application Fee - NON-REFUNDABLE

             

Security Deposit - Only the balance of the security deposit will be refunded after the deduction of the cancellation fee.

 

EVENT 4

WHEN THE LESSOR / STUDENT CANCELS BETWEEN 1 FEBRUARY 2026 AND 1 JUNE 2026 AND HAS SIGNED THE STUDENT ACCOMMODATION AGREEMENT:

 

Cancellation Penalty -

R5000.00 is payable, if Student finds a suitable replacement tenant immediately to sign  a new agreement for the remaining balance of the year.

 

If not, R5000 plus 50% of the Accommodation Fee is due for the remainder of the Accommodation Period. The aforesaid will be deducted from the Accommodation Fees paid to date. Alternatively, if there is no balance of Accommodation Fees or if the balance of the Accommodation Fees is not enough to cover the aforesaid then the student will have to pay the aforesaid amounts directly to the Lessor before exiting.

Security Deposit - Only the balance of the deposit will be refunded after the deduction of the cancellation fees.

 

TIME EVENT 4

WHEN THE LESSOR / STUDENT CANCELS BETWEEN 1 JUNE 2026 AND 30 NOVEMBER 2026 AND HAS SIGNED THE STUDENT ACCOMMODATION AGREEMENT DURING 2ND SEMESTER:

Cancellation Penalty -

R6000.00 penalty is payable, if the Lessor / Student finds a suitable replacement student to sign a new Student Accommodation Agreement for the remaining period of the Agreement.

 

If not 100% of the Accommodation Fee is due for the remainder of the Accommodation Period. The aforesaid will be deducted from the Accommodation Fees paid to date. Alternatively, if there is no balance of Accommodation Fees or if the balance of the Accommodation Fees is not enough to cover the aforesaid then the student will have to pay the aforesaid amounts directly to the Lessor before exiting.
